How to Download Pinterest Video on Desktop

On desktop, the whole thing takes under a minute: copy the pin link from Pinterest in your browser, paste it here, preview, and save the original file to your computer.

Steps

  1. On pinterest.com, open the video pin, click Share, then Copy link. Short pin.it links work too.
  2. Go to GoPinSave in the same browser. Paste the link in the box on the Pinterest Video Downloader page and press Download.
  3. Check the preview, pick a quality, and click the download button. The file saves to your browser’s download folder.
  4. Open the file from your downloads bar to play it, or move it to any folder you like.

Browser notes

Chrome, Edge, and Firefox all handle the download the same way: the file goes to your default downloads folder. If your browser is set to ask where to save each file, pick a folder you will remember. If a download opens in a new tab instead of saving, right-click the download button and choose Save link as — that forces a real file save.

If it still fails

Private-board links cannot be read, deleted pins show as not found, and board links fail — open one video first. For Idea Pins that only show a photo, read the Idea Pin problem page.

Tips for Fast Desktop Workflow and Keyboard Shortcuts

Using the One-Click Paste Button on Windows and macOS

On a desktop browser, you can copy any pin URL from your address bar and click the Paste button inside the Pinterest video downloader or Pinterest image downloader to populate the link instantly.

Why Browser-Based Saving Beats Third-Party Extensions

Many Chrome extensions inject unwanted scripts into every page you visit. Using GoPinSave in a clean browser tab requires zero permissions and keeps your computer fast and secure.
